Landscaping

Placement is the whole job

There are real benefits to adding trees and shrubs to a property. A good selection of plants, trees, flowers and shrubs increases the value of your home and improves both the usability and the look of your yard.

The part that gets skipped is placement. A shrub that looks right against the foundation at two feet tall is a problem at six, and a tree sited without thinking about the canopy it will cast changes what will grow under it a decade later. We use knowledge of growth patterns and maintenance requirements to put plants where they will still make sense.

If you are working with a designer, we can help implement the plan and flag anything that will fight the site conditions — shade, drainage or the compacted clay common on newer lots.

The wrong plant in the right spot is still the wrong plant in five years.

Our process

How an install goes

Three steps, with the thinking done before the digging.

01 — Plan placement

Plan placement

Working from your ideas or your designer’s plan, we site each plant for sun, drainage and mature size.

02 — Apply growth knowledge

Apply growth knowledge

Spacing and selection account for how fast and how large each plant actually grows here.

03 — Install with maintenance in mind

Install with maintenance in mind

Planted so the bed stays maintainable — not so dense it needs tearing out in three years.

Frequently asked questions

Plant Installation FAQs

Do you design the landscape too?
We can help you work with a designer on placement, and we bring knowledge of growth patterns and maintenance to the install so the plan still works in five years, not just on paper.
Do you offer deer-resistant plants?
Yes — it is a real consideration on wooded lots across Apex, Cary and New Hill. Ask us about options when we walk the property.
When is the best time to plant in the Triangle?
Fall and early spring are generally easier on new trees and shrubs than midsummer, because roots establish without the plant also fighting heat stress. We will tell you if waiting a few weeks will meaningfully improve the outcome.
